Camarillo's Trumpet Modifications

Historic instruments are finding their way to our shop.  These types of cornets are usually called cornopeans dating approximately 1870 to 1910 This historic brass instrument found to have had previous repair attempts proved unsuccessful.  Clean up, dent repair, carefully dismount part by part. Frozen slides reconstructed, reshape, rebuild.  Reset valve casing, construct Leadpipe extension. Valve refitting will be required due to age and previous repairs.  Antique Brush finish, body alignment, rebuilt frozen slides. Instrument now playable, enjoyable project. 

Band Instrument Repair Bach Trumpet  Severe bell flare damage After hand burnishing and some dent rolling. Done by hand to maintain some resonance after extensive damage.  Mirafone 5 Rotor BBb Studio Tuba   Rotor casings extreme stress, Frozen slides. MDRS Dent removal- bell stem-flare dent removal as well.   Reset slide ports, alignment very crucial to have the best rotor action possible.  Still even slight stress may cause these rotors to be slow and unresponsive.  Bach LTS 180 43-72 * Bb Trumpet  Twisted - Bent Bell, Very apparent body stress. Bell diount - Body Alignment required. U Bell reshaped by hand for the best sound production. The braces needed to be repositioned quite a bit to allow minimal stress-tension during this body alignment.   Great finish, very open relaxed sound. Selmer Custom A Piccolo Design specifications by Dr. John Carroll Principal Trumpet San Antonio Symphony.  Adjustable main tuning slide, interchangeable Split Lead-pipe,  locking position collar and removable resonance weight ring.  Brush Antique - Clear Coat Lacquered finish to complete this unique Custom Trumpet.  These final settings completed quite a well playing Piccolo Trumpet. Improved tuning-slotting as well as overall sound was found thru each stage of Dr. Carrolls modification requests. His knowledge of the Trumpet is World Class all the way. Thank You. 

Bb Tuba Dropped, Hard hit, Require removal of bottom bow to Dedent-Remove body stress. Big job time intensive, but connecting branch requires reshaping.  Bell flare damage, roll and reshape to improve sound resonance.  Reassemble lacquer service area Blend old finish to new lacquer coloring
