Mouthpiece Repair

Image
This mouthpiece has lost its plating and will need to be re-plated.  The existing plating will be stripped then machined to repair and smooth rim damage.   Many measurements are taken to ensure the least amount of change will be encountered.  Granted as they are damaged, is the initial change.   My goal is to alter as little as possible, in order to save the mouthpiece to the best of my ability.   Slight rim damage will require resurfacing.  Careful attention to detail will be needed to maintain existing rim contour. Precise Buffing and Polishing preparation will be performed prior to plating. Other custom mouthpiece designs prepped for Silver and or Gold Plating.

Edwards Custom Trumpet Modification

05/22/17 Project: Edwards Custom Bb Modular trumpet design was not comfortable to the player.  The decision was made to remove and reset body brace design to improve playability as requested.  True up receiver for improved mouthpiece position and feel.   Thorough inspection and playing time was done to determine the best plan. Complete breakdown and disassembly for chemical cleaning. Inspection of internal settings.  Measurements and design plans determined. Chemically cleaned  Body brace positioning. Custom Braces designed and positioned for optimum performance Brush Finished as requested. Logan Keese

Project: Schilke E3L Refit Bach 239 C Trumpet Bell, build tunable bell sleeve. Balance and redesign for broader sound, tuning and improved playability. Reshape the Bell Bow to improve response and slotting.  Found this conversion helped with broadening the sound of a D Trumpet to more of a C Trumpet Feel. After many measurements and setting alterations, I dialed in the sweet spot, and reshaped the bell bow.  Added weight of the clamping receiver ferrule improved feel and placement of partials as well. Cleaned up and final settings, alignment and testing.  I find this part to be the best part of the work I perform on each job.  The receiver was custom designed on a previous visit and seems to connect this new modification.  This modification results in an extraordinary playing trumpet.  I chose to leave the D Bell settings as is for now.  This gives the player a great amount of options now with D, Eb, and C Bell options.  Andrew Ginac  agignac8@g

Bach 180 43 72 As so many trumpet players already know how well this trumpet performs.  This player has found over time the feel of certain partials have become inconsistent from time to time.  The mouthpiece of choice was bottoming out, and never seating in same spot. Precision custom receiver is designed and machined as close to original settings as possible.  We machine internal settings just short of original settings. After numerous play tests, we dial in-locate the most responsive position and wall thickness to perform at each trumpets best. Solder in and reposition, reshape bell to leadpipe brace.  More testing.  Design and cut thumb ring per request. Clean up, brush machine finish, Lacquer. More Testing (The Best Part) Dial in mouthpiece position to respond as player requested.  Check and re-check settings to be where player has requested. Machine - clean up mouthpiece damage.  The mouthpiece balance and weight entering the receiver tends to create an a
