1949 Buescher Shepards crook Cornet
  Bell dismount Dedent Reshape, strip-polish then Relacquer. Unique design of solid nickle valve casing walls creates a solid sound. This cornet blends the use nickle and yellow brass to produce a broad ressonate tone throughout. 

Great sound for many styles. Very blessed to have acquired the skills to manufacture-replicate parts as needed. 
Adjustable 3rd Slide ring is positioned below the slide assembly
         
No such thing as "Not worth repairing" 
  
True some will take more work at times, but they all have a voice if there is Pssion. 
  
 The valve casings are designed with thicker walls I believe adds to the solid sound core. 
         
Always great to study vintage designs and best of all to play each one.

Schilke E3L-4 Bell Conversion Working with Trumpeter David Martinez.  This project involved converting this incredible 4 Valve Eb Trumpet to receive Bach 239 C-Trumpet Bell and play in D (Uhhhmmm...)  What can I say, Trumpeters... we are an awesome breed. After a trip to the Schilke factory having a set of D Trumpet slides made, David brought back to have the conversion completed.  A substantial amount of time is spent playing this trumpet both in Eb and D testing with prototype bells and slides to arrive at the best feel as possible.  Talking over the playing properties with each player gives me detailed notes of the players needs.  Understanding each player has their own set of playing attributes.  I strive to accomplish only the finest results.  Precision measurements are taken to create bell receiving hardware.  This is required to convert the Bach C-Trumpet Bell size with the Schilke Eb Trumpet bell sleeve.  Internal work is done to Bell tail,

Mt. Vernon C Trumpet - Malone Chicago Gen.2 Conversion

Andy Lott Shipped a few CTrumpets for analysis and modifications.    Design and develop improvement modification plan. This trumpet was in need of Bob Malone replacement Leadpipe and matching Tuning slide. Notice the different Bell taper. Both Bach C Trumpets on the right is Mt. Vernon and on Left Bach 229L.  But, the Mt. Vernon has been Converted into a Malone.Chicago Gen.2  Leadpipe and Main tuning slide. Next Andy wanted to have a custom receiver for even a more unique sound.  Converting a Mt. Vernon Trumpet is always a challenge.  Each one I have encountered in the past 25 years has been very unique.   Finding the sweet spot is very challenging.  The proper Gap - Setting - Brace points are when the horn livens up.  The sound will open up, Resonance, and overall ease of playability. Mounting has its own techniques that work best for me.  Ultimately, making very precise internal-external cuts create very balanced relaxed tone.   Body
