This trumpet was in need of Bob Malone replacement Leadpipe and matching Tuning slide. Notice the different Bell taper. Both Bach C Trumpets on the right is Mt. Vernon and on Left Bach 229L. But, the Mt. Vernon has been Converted into a Malone.Chicago Gen.2 Leadpipe and Main tuning slide. Next Andy wanted to have a custom receiver for even a more unique sound. Converting a Mt. Vernon Trumpet is always a challenge. Each one I have encountered in the past 25 years has been very unique. Finding the sweet spot is very challenging.
